Most of you have heard by now about the fire at the Fralinger String Band’s warehouse at 2nd and Wharton streets that nearly destroyed all the Mummers’ hard work. The good news is that most of their gear emerged from the fire in tact, if not soaking wet. Inky reports that the fire was caused by faulty electrical wiring in the illegal auto repair shop that shared the warehouse.
Meanwhile Passyunk Post contributor Samantha Krotzer snapped a few pictures of the scene late Tuesday afternoon as crews were working to clear the wreckage. Take a look, and way down at the bottom, find a video of the billowing flames and thick smoke from Phillyfirenews.com.
