Nice Things Handmade will be hosting a benefit and art sale tomorrow night during Second Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. for local art therapist Jennifer Nonas, who was diagnosed with cancer a year ago.
Volunteers have donated lovingly handmade “hearts” that will be sold for $5 each. The hearts are made out of a variety of mixed media and the proceeds will help Jennifer pay for her mounting medical bills.
Nonas, a South Philly native, has fought several battles with cancer this year. Originally diagnosed with breast caner, it spread to other parts of her body. She’s undergone treatment and continues to need support for her medical bills and ongoing therapy. She is an art therapist with a modest salary, and the treatments and hospitalization required over the past year is beyond anyone’s means, especially someone in the arts/public health sector.
Please come out to support a Passyunk neighbor during a difficult illness. Check the Facebook invite here.
Nice Things Handmade is located at 1731 E. Passyunk Ave., 267-455-0256.
