American Sardine Bar gets OK for outside seats

After months of struggling with the application for outside seating, American Sardine Bar at 18th and Federal was approved at the Zoning Board of Appeals last week.

Owner John Longacre, who also owns South Philly Tap Room and will be breaking ground shortly on ReNewbold, had been worried that another delay would mean the patio wouldn’t have opened before the summer.

Now that all the hurdles have been cleared, you can expect a expect an eight-foot high fence to go up around the lot, enclosing five or six tables, Longacre says.

    I think they may have to compromise on the fence and make it 6 feet instead of 8–or maybe I misunderstood that part.
