Demolition work has started inside the Boot and Saddle

Big moves up and down Broad Street from the Avram Hornik team.

Thanks to an eagle-eyed reader for sending us this one:

Sure enough, we walked past the Boot and Saddle at 1131 S. Broad St. and it seems they have finally started gutting the place, about a year and a half after the liquor license first popped up in the window. There was also some digging going on out front, which we assume is related to the sewer line. It’s not glamorous, but hey, it’s something.

Believe it or not, that pile of dirt is a symbol. Yep, symbolic dirt.

This development comes on the heels of the announcement that Hornik would reopen the Dolphin Tavern down at 1539 S. Broad St next week. A reader spotted the yellow neon aglow on the refurbished sign one night last week, and word is the famous boot will also be returned to its former glory.

Hey, Avram, we know another place you might be interested in:
