Owners Mike Santoro and Mike Dorris decided to remodel the restaurant at 824 S. Eighth St. after only seven months in business. They apparently had planned to do a more complete makeover from the former James but ran out of time, the Insider said:
Recently, designer Tennyson Tippy was called in to redo the dining room. Tippy, a wallpaper specialist, started with wallpaper. Then came painting, installation of bead board, addition of lighting, framed fabric panels and more mirrors.
Santoro’s wife Priya told us the new look was ready for service Saturday night. “We unveiled our new dining room last night and we couldn’t be happier with it,” she said in an email. “There will be a few more touches as the month goes on, but the main installation has been finished. We believe it really brings a great ambiance and cozy atmosphere to the dining room.”
