What's Happening in:  Passyunk Square

First Pics: Gallery/gift shop Eclectic Expressionism now open at 1507 E. Passyunk Ave.

Eclectic Expressionism, the gallery and gift boutique that replaced the old – ahem – massage place, opened Wednesday at 1507 E. Passyunk Ave.

Owner Nicola Vittoria has cultivated a decidedly new-age feel at the shop, which has a much wider selection than we expected.

She’s stocked lots of artwork and jewelry, plus incense and crafts to hold it, sarongs, a couple lamps, wall coverings, teas, some cookies, mugs, essential oils, herbal treatments. Some of the stock parallels that of Soulistic, which opened in July on the 1700 block, but it seems to be distinguish itself enough to stand out.

Herbal remedies, much of them by Bach Remedies

Vittoria made the essential oils

The prices were also surprisingly low. Maybe Vittoria got a deal on the rent because she lives upstairs. You could here her service Pomeranian, named Aura, barking in the back.

Vittoria says she wants to rent cable space to other artists. Email her at

An artist with a separate studio in Bella Vista, Vittoria created much of the work on the walls, the jewelry and even decorated some of the pottery and glassware.

Lots of votive holders

Nicola, it looks fantastic, just unbelievably great, congratulations. The shop looks wonderful and you do too. I pray that miracles continue. I say continue because I assume there must have been a few already to get you this far. May all the invisible powers be with you and support you going forward.

    God bless and all love,
    Jack Goelz and Arthur Otsuka
