UPDATE: This post has been updated from an earlier version.
Le Virtu’s new patio, which we told you about in March, will get its public unveiling with a party on Sunday. But it looks like it’s ready to go already.
On Sunday, Chef Joe Cicala will serve Le Virtu soup, “the restaurant’s namesake and a quintessential Abruzzese spring dish made with more than 40 ingredients, grilled Arrosticini (lamb skewers) and grilled sausage and vegetables,” according to a news release. Tickets for the party, which runs from 1 to 3 p.m., cost $45 and include wines from the recently added tap wine system.
The patio more than doubles the restaurant’s outdoor space, which will be quite lush once the plantings have fully grown in, including vines on the wooden canopy at the back.
“The canopy will eventually cover a small counter for guests to sit around and enjoy drinks,” the release said. “Also, Chef Cicala plans to host special chef’s table dinners there in the future.”
Outdoor bar? Sounds nice.
