Ori Feibush sent warning letter to Point Breeze resident

Apparently, it’s Developer Day here at the Passyunk Post (see our Kenny Gamble foray below). This installment has to do with Ori Feibush, owner of OCF Realty, benefactor of Naked and Point Breeze lightning rod.

Feibush, who has drawn headlines for his conflicts with neighbors on the west side of Broad, may have gone too far with this one.

The Daily News reports that Feibush’s lawyer sent a threatening letter to a neighbor who opposes his effort to build four homes on Annin Street near 20th, including one for himself. The letter came after he and the neighbor, Haley Dervinis, who also lives on that block, got into a couple comment wars on Naked Philly posts.

Says the paper:

The letter, which was obtained by the Daily News, points to comments Dervinis posted on two blogs. In one on, which is owned by Feibush’s OCF Realty, she wrote Feibush has “been painted as a cut throat, shady, crass, money driven developer.”

The letter warns Dervinis that she will be under oath at today’s ZBA hearing “and any false statement that you make after being placed under oath will have severe consequences. This letter is your one and only warning before we file suit against you.”

The paper says his lawyer even spoke with Dervinis’ boss at work over the matter. Feibush denied that and said Dervinis had defamed him elsewhere, posting false things about him on Facebook and sending inflammatory emails to other neighborhood residents.

A quick look at the comments on that post, from Oct. 2, 2012, though, doesn’t make Dervinis seem as nutty as some of the other Point Breeze residents and she respectfully conveys her opinion, at least here. One big con against her, though, is that she does say that traffic from six houses could impact police and fire response, which is plain ridiculous.

But it doesn’t seem like she said anything other than express her opinion about the project. Here’s the part of Dervinis’ comment referenced above in full:

Based on what I have read, heard from neighbors, other developers and some of your former tenants, you have been painted as a cut throat, shady, crass, money driven developer. With no personal experiences aside from this blog your sarcastic tone does little to make me feel trustworthy of your intentions. …

Since my opinions are based on hearsay and the media, I understand that this may not be who you really are, but its your current image in my circle.

That’s not so bad, right?

The hearing at the Zoning Board of Adjustment is scheduled for 2 p.m. today at 1515 Arch Street, 18th Floor.

Should be quite the show. But, come on, Ori, we figured you’d have thicker skin than this. You have our full support for your efforts to improve Point Breeze, but this move just seems over the top.
