St. Jude’s is out, making way for a huge new mystery business

The St. Jude’s ecclesiastical shop that has been hawking communion dresses, Catholic memorabilia and religious gear out of 1807 E. Passyunk Ave. for decades has officially vacated the space.

St. jude's

So, if you know anyone looking for 4,000+ square feet of space on Passyunk, you pass along the phone number in the picture above.

The place is huge, very deep. This picture shows only about a quarter of the space available.

There was quite a lively discussion in the comments – 24 of them – about what should replace the store when we posted in June that it would be closing. Will Joanna get her wish for a Trader Joe’s (talk about wishful thinking), or the desire of SH and JC for a music venue?

Or maybe the South Philly Food Co-op?

As always, we’ll keep you posted.
