To-Do List: Honey beer, Fringe Fest, garden tour & more

Try some mead, the booze made from honey, at the Philadelphia Honey Fest in Germantown. Other events at the historic Wyck House go from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., but the honey beer and mead tasting happens at 1 p.m. Free.

All weekend

The Fringe Arts Festival began yesterday, and several performances for the 18-day celebration are in South Philly. Check out our guide here, and a nice preview of those events on the website Phindie. Showtimes and prices vary.

And there’s the South Philly Food Co-op’s garden tour, which begins at Broad and Snyder and brings you to more than a dozen lush spots along the Broad Street corridor. One stop will be a window box workshop at the EPX community garden at Neumann-Goretti. Garden tour goes from 1 to 5 p.m. Craft vendors will also be at the tour hub at Broad and Snyder. Workshop by Urban Jungle goes from 2 to 3:30 p.m. and will include a raffle for a window box.

Meanwhile, it’s so friggin’ nice outside, maybe you just want to drink and eat al fresco. Check out our guide to outdoor dining in South Philly here.
