Pennsport’s Titan Park — which is one in name only, since it’s essentially a concrete slab surrounded by highway guardrails — is getting a boost from the Community Design Collaborative, a group that provides pro bono design services to nonprofits in Philly.
Friends of Titan Park, the community group that we told you in March was championing the little square, received a grant from the collaborative last month, and is now working with a volunteer task force of neighbors and other community residents to formulate a redesign over the next six months.
The task force will meet with the collaborative twice, once this month and again in November, to discuss the design of the plot at 108 Titan St.
If the collaborative sounds familiar, it’s the same group that is involved with a much larger redesign of Columbus Square Park, at 12th and Wharton.
e’ll be keeping our eye on progress on Titan Street – it will probably be a while – and we ask you to do the same and to let us know if you spy anything exciting. Shoot us an email at email@example.com if you see anything intersting going on there – or anywhere else, for that matter.
