The shop, which opened at 942 S. 9th St. in what used to be a check cashing place, offers dozens of flavored extra virgin olive oils as well as infused white and dark balsamic vinegars, plus a selection of condiments.
Owners Laurissa and Carlos Cardenas had been exploring opening their own business for about four years and this shop combined Laurissa’s Italian roots (a Sicilian great-grandmother) with her passion for health cooking, said her mom, Irene Kuehn (also the sales manager).
The EVOs come from around the world and are infused by a California company. And it’s a tasting room, so you can sample as many as you like. There is also a selection of boutique vinegars from South Africa, specialty salts, local pickled vegetables and more.
Kuehn said that the room will soon be made available for tasting events. Hours for now are Tuesday to Friday 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (closed Mondays) Find them on Facebook here.
