The blow out menu offers styles such as Straight and Narrow, the curly Bombshell, the Queen Bee and the South Beach, and the updos. A kids’ blowout offered is called the Sassy Girl. They also do makeup, facial waxing and keratin treatments. No cuts or color.
The party menu includes the girlfriend’s pamper party, the last hora party for bachelorettes, the soon to be Mrs. party for brides, and the glamour girl party for kids.
Prices range depending on what clients want. All blowouts are $25, but the updos range between $35 to $45 depending on the length of the hair. Clients pay $15 for children under 12 years.
Owner Natalie Merlino does not style hair herself, but she has hired licensed stylists. Blow Dry Boutique uses the Chi Royal Treatment Series hair products for washing, conditioning and styling if clients request it.
Merlino was a paralegal and then worked with small-business loans. When she was laid off last January, she came up with the idea to set up her own business. ”There are more boutiques on Passyunk, and I thought it would be for women to get blowouts before work,” she said.
The boutique’s hours recently changed. It will be open Tuesdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday to Saturday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and by appointment only on Sunday. It is closed on Monday.
