South Philly Barbacoa, proposed for Zagar warehouse, to debut preview in a cart

The couple behind the Mexican lamb barbecue joint that is proposed for Isaiah Zagar’s massive mosaic warehouse  just can’t wait.

Ben Miller and his wife Cristina Martinez will launch a lamb barbecue cart on Sunday as a preview for what they plan at 1002 Watkins St., says City Paper.

Beginning at 7 a.m. Miller and Martinez are going to be setting up their cart outside of La Rosa, a Mexican bakery on the corner of 8th and Watkins.

They’ll be out there till supplies run out.

An informational proposal to the East Passyunk Crossing civic’s zoning committee for the Zagar plan was supposed to happen this week, but the snow forced the meeting to be postponed until Monday night. Good luck, guys.

Check in with them on Facebook to see if this cart is going to become a weekly thing.

What a smart way to drum up business. I’m a veggie so I won’t be sampling but you have to admire the entrepreneurship.
