SoPhilly Spotlight: “Vision” edition

This week’s SoPhilly Spotlight┬áis a bit unorthodox, a 2,900 square foot garage that was converted to artist studios and requires a bit of vision.

You have to imagine.

You have to imagine.

One catch, at $299,900, it’s going to take a lot new than vision to make this the home of your dreams. The building, at 910 S. 5th St., also has a studio apartment with 20-foot ceilings and as much parking as you could ever want.

From the listing, by Cityspace:

Many possibilities for the right person. Garage entrance on 5th St leads to over 2700 sq feet all of the ground floor. Most current use was for artists’ studios. Space behind the garage is divided into a number of studios by drywall. Each studio has plumbing. Ceiling height around 20 feet.

There is currently a small studio apartment on the 2nd floor – about 500 sq ft. The rest of 2nd floor is huge roof area. Buildings on either side are 3-stories; new rental homes on the south side. Great potential for a spectacular home, rental building, condos, automobile collection.

The roof could make a killer patio.

The roof could make a killer patio.

Do you have the vision, or would you tear it down and build bigger?
