4-business mini-mall proposed for former Golden Palace restaurant on Washington Ave.

A new zoning notice has been posted on the old New Golden Palace Restaurant at 8th Street and Washington Avenue, and it looks like the 7,000 square foot building is going to be broken up into four smaller businesses.

Golden Palace 8th and Washington

The notice identifies two of the possible four businesses to be medical or dental practices. The other two are proposed to be a pharmaceutical/convenience store and a prepared food shop.

The 12-space parking lot to the right of the building will remain.

There will be a public hearing about the proposed renovations on March 18 at 1515 Arch Street, Room 1802.

A building permit was also taped to the front door showing that a permit was filed in August for interior demolition. The place appears to be gutted already. At one point last year, the site was rumored to be converted to a nail-supply store, but that appears to have been scrapped.

    So instead of a big-ugly crap-hole, it will be 4 small-ugly crap-holes. Meh.
