Shank’s at Pier 40 (Columbus Blvd. and Christian St.) is offering you the chance of a lifetime — you can submit your own original sandwich recipe for a chance to have it featured on the menu.
During their “Invent Your Own Original Sandwich” contest, entrants submit their own original sandwich recipe through Shank’s Facebook page by 11:59pm on March 31. For those not lucky enough to have their recipe immortalized on the Shank’s menu, gift cards of $100, $50, and $25 will be awarded to the first, second, and third prizes winner respectively.
Listen, we take our hoagies seriously here in Philly. Hell, Angelo Cataldi almost died because of one essentially due to the backlash from that ridiculous “Cheesesteak Shuffle” commercial that aired during the Super Bowl. Some things in Philly are just sacred — and yes, hoagies (and parking) probably top the list.
Sandwich connoisseurs, this is your moment to leave a lasting stamp on your Philadelphia foodie file. Channel your inner Nicholas Elmi and get crackin’ on creating your culinary legacy.
Meanwhile, has anyone been to this place recently? How’s it compare to the Shank’s of olden days?
