Doggie Style opens another location on 2nd Street, just off South

Pet store franchise Doggie Style has opened a branch in Queen Village just off South Street at  604 S. 2nd St.

Company president Howard Nelson said he chose to open a branch in the Headhouse Square District because it is a very pet-friendly area. “We’re bringing in great services, great products at great prices,” Nelson said.

There are already locations at 12th and Passyunk and 21st and South, as well as a few elsewhere in the city. At the Passyunk spot, there had been a doggie daycare where Birra is now located at the corner.

Doggie Style services and products include grooming, adoption, food, toys, accessories and supplies. Nelson said the Queen Village store will offer a training program for dogs, as well.

Despite its name, Doggie Style is feline friendly, as well. It offers tons of kitty toys, beds and treats. But what’s a pet store without a resident cat?  He goes by the name Vinny.

“He’s super friendly and very spoiled,” Nelson said.

The store had a soft opening on March 28 but plans an official grand opening in May.

It’s quite the time for dog accessories. We just reported on Friday that a natural dog-treat bakery and shop, Amelie’s Bark Shop, will open this summer across from the fountain.

Doggie Style is a joke, It’s the same owner of the so called rescue Operation Ava. The rescue is all about profit. The owner of Doggie Style Howard Nelson has euthanized many pets for adoption. Between 2010-2013 341 dogs/cats have been euthanized for no reason besides not finding a home quick enough. 2013 same reason 117 euthanized. I have lots of proof to follow my facts. Papers signed off by Howard Nelson to euthanize these animals. The products at Doggie Style are horrible, look at the expiration on the food items, they sell expired food by either rubbing off the expiration or covering it with a sticker. The company is shady and owes hundreds of thousands to vendors. Do your research next to you shop at Doggie Style or Operation Ava. Google “Howard Nelson – Doggie Style – Operation Ava”

This company is a joke. I’ve seen many dogs get injured from the grooming salon at these Doggie Style stores. The owner shouldn’t be trusted! Howard Nelson is nothing but a fraud and is out to steal your money. The rescue Operation Ava isn’t anyone good as well. Do not support this company.
