Flat Iron opens in former Tony Luke’s Sports Bar at 26 E. Oregon Ave.

Flat Iron, a new bar and entertainment venue located at 26 E. Oregon Avenue, opened for business last week.

The “reconcept” of the Tony Luke’s Sports Bar space, which closed in 2012, looks to feature a unique customer experience complete with a “VIP room, dance floor, a stage for live music, multiple flat screen TV’s for the hottest games, a spacious dining room plus with a bar and a banquet room for on-site catering,” according to the press release from MBB Management.

Highlighted by the Jacked Mac’n Burger, a Frankenfood mashup that features a burger on a fried mac and cheese bun, the food looks to be a reimagining of traditional sports bar food.

According to a feature on Zagat.com, here’s what the drink side of the menu looks like:

A dozen taps pour a mix of crafts – Yards, Victory, Anchor – and regular domestics. There’s also a rotating 7-oz. “charity draft” for just $2. Several dozen more beers come in cans and bottles, most for just $5 each. Cocktails are between $6-$7 and there are 20 wines available for $20 per bottle or $7 per glass.

Flat Iron will be open seven days a week and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

One thing is for certain, it’s a damn good time to be opening up a new business in the Oregon Avenue area right about now: South Bowl is chugging along, the 2300 Arena opened, mini golf is on the way and Swanson Street is getting some much needed TLC. There is also the little fact that you’re right off of a major highway and within a stone’s throw from the Stadium District.
