Restaurant coming to 242 Wharton St. will be the Pennsport Beer Boutique

The liquor license at Moyamensing and Wharton we told you about yesterday is for a beer garden and market that’s opening there called Pennsport Beer Boutique.

Owners of the beer garden, located at 242 Wharton St., are set to present their plan to the Pennsport Civic Association tonight at 7 p.m. at the EOM center 138 Moore St. Essentially, according to Pennsport Beer Boutique’s Facebook page, they plan to offer a “grand assortment of beers by the bottle,” plus have drafts, growler refills and a menu.

The website also describes the place as a gourmet market, and shows a picture of some kind of wrap and a fruit salad. Maybe they’re planning something like Hawthorne’s on 11th Street?

The trees and the term “beer garden” indicate that this could be quite a nice outside-seating addition to Pennsport. We’ll bring you more details as they become available, of course.

Hope the restaurant is nicer than the workers planting the trees. They weren’t exactly neighborly.
