Nanobrewery & restaurant proposed for former warehouse at Moyamensing and Moore

A nanobrewery has been proposed for the former eModa warehouse on Moyamensing Avenue near Moore Street, more than a year after we first heard rumors that it would be coming to this space.

Fliers were distributed to the near neighbors alerting them to the building owner’s request to consolidate 13 lots into one for the purpose of a “nano-brewery, distribution of malt or brewed beverages, sit-down restaurant, and retail sales of food, beverages and groceries,” reports Curbed Philly.

We know who the brewer is but he’s not ready to have his name out there yet. He did note that the deal is not final and that the proposal is for several separate businesses, and that he’s looking to open a brewery with a taproom, not a bar. The restaurant would be separate.

Curbed notes that the building is a little quirky because it surrounds four rowhouses that face Moyamensing, and the blog has several pictures of that sticky situation. The building also will need zoning variances to change it from residential use, so the new business will certainly need to appease neighbors to make this project go forward.

Here’s hoping they can work something out.
