Looking for some fun (and free) things for this kiddies this summer? The fine folks over at the Friends of Jefferson Square Park have just the gathering for you – KIDZ NITE. Every Wednesday starting around 6:30 p.m. at the park at 4th and Washington, kids (sorry, kidz) of all ages gather for a free event that offers everyone an awesome chance to get to know some new neighbors and have some fun in the process.

Feel free to bring a blanket with some goodies and hang out while your kids run amuck on the beautiful and expansive grounds of one of Philly’s most underrated parks. Treats and games are there for the kids to enjoy each week and they keep the programming fast and loose depending on the weather (cool down stuff for warmer days).

They even set up outdoor movie screenings for those who can stay up a little later into the night, weather permitting. Keep an ear to the ground for more information on the movie screenings, park cleanups and other information about Jefferson Square Park through their Facebook page or sign up for email updates – jeffersonsquarepark@gmail.com.

Here is the tentative outdoor movie screening schedule:

July 9        Horse Feathers – Marx Brother’s

July 23     Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Arc

Aug. 6   North by Northwest – Albert Hitchcock

Aug. 20  LEGO Movie
