3rd time’s the charm? Another pizza place opens at 11th and Jackson

Thanks to the eagle-eyed tipster who gave us the heads up about this new place. See something new in your neighborhood? Email us at punk@passyunkpost.com.

A pizza joint called Philly Crust has opened at 11th and Jackson, in the corner that was previously home of the short-lived Nannie Franco’s pizza and 11th Street Pizza before that.

Philly Crust

The space at 2141 S. 11th St. looks much like it did before, so hopefully they have some tricks up their sleeve.

Too bad we didn’t see this on July 21, though:

But since now you’ll have to pay for your pizza, you can find their menu on GrubHub here. We couldn’t find a website for them, but the phone number is 267-219-7828.

Has anyone tried them out yet?

Hopefully they’ll have beer-to-go. Would be nice to be able to pick up a pie and a 6pk at the same spot.

3rd time? It’s been a lot more than that over the years. That place seems to change hands on a yearly basis.

Looking at their menu, it’s just a clone of every other take-out place. No originality whatsoever. I’ll be stunned if it’s still there in a year.

Hopefully they’ll have good pizza and can remain open for more than a minute.

Horrible pizza. Huge slices of purely mediocre pizza. Place is a bit messy, almost canceled my order once I saw how messy the place was. When I took my pizza home, I lifted a piece out and there was a dark long hair on the bottom.
    Stay away!!!!

Wish them luck and we heard Nannie Franco’s pizza relocated to the Italian market and checked them out so maybe it’s not the best spot for a za shop on 11th.

Too many nondescript takeout joints littering the area… It doesn’t matter what kind of food it is. These places with owners lacking any type of originality or charisma and the all important cleanliness factor, become eyesores very quickly…
