‘Two Street,’ a gay Mummer rom-com, surpasses goal on Indiegogo

Local theater troupe Tribe of Fools went the crowdfunding route in order to create one of the more uniquely Philly plays you’re going to see at the FringeArts Festival this year. They recently surpassed their goal of  $5,000 with a few weeks to spare.

Their latest play is called “Two Street,” a romantic comedy about two men who fall in love but happen to be in rival Fancy Brigades. Think of it as the most Philly Romeo & Juliet ever created. Love always gets in the way of a good strut, doesn’t it?

Their Indiegogo page offers some more insight into what you can expect from the show:

Two Street is a fast and funny play that pokes fun at society’s love affair with falling in Love and the gender roles we’re expected to fit in relationships.

They also put together a video explaining the process behind Two Street:

FringeArts 2014 runs from Sept. 5-21. Tribe of Fools is known for their physical and acrobatic style of theater and entertainment. Judging by the training videos, this will be no different from their past performances.
