Spotted: Class warfare soldier, or just a jerk?

This graffiti showed up on the wall of a private home at 13th and Moore this week. It says, “Destroy the rich, uphold the poor.”

Is that some kind of manifesto? Or is he just an idiot?

It’s vandalism and he is an idiot. But why is this so readily condemned, but similar stunts are praised when some “performance artist” hangs signs on public property?

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks this. I think the praise of stuff you see from Conrad Benner (StreetsDept.com) postings, it makes vandalism “okay” because now it’s “art”. It sucks that this home owner now has to spend money to get that removed for someone being an idiot.

You don’t think there is any difference?

I’d say he’s a class warfare soldier AND a jerk… And YES there is a difference between hanging a sign that can be taken down in a few minutes and spray painting a wall with graffiti, which is a chore to paint over or remove.. LoL

This really sucks. I am one who has been painting over graffiti of the brush factory and superior plumbing buildings for years… Its no picnic to have to deal with it. Flat out sucks…

Street art is a very different animal than petty crappy vandalism like this. Its not well done and its on someone’s house which is messed up.

But I guess everyone has their own opinions and sensibilities and degrees of taste.

Hope this gets cleaned up soon. I’ve seen a lot of childish tags in the neighborhood lately.
