Demo warning hung on ‘twin brother’ of collapsed building near Pat’s Steaks
A violation notice was placed on the building at 1305 S. 9th St. — which was attached to the one that collapsed on the corner — near Pat’s King of Steaks.
The notice, which is stamped Sept. 20, says that a “bulged front wall” means that the owners of the property have 30 days to fix the issue or the city will demolish the structure.
This area may look familiar, it’s the property adjacent to 848 Wharton Street, the site where a roof collapsed under the weight of heavy snow back in February. A reader gave us the heads up, calling it the “twin brother” of the collapsed corner property.
The building sits catty-corner to Pat’s, which is of note due to the fact that Anna Olivieri, a member of the Olivieri clan that owns Pat’s, owns the large vacant lot on the northeast corner of 9th and Wharton streets. That one is reportedly under contract. Another Olivieri, Maria, owns the now-vacant lot at 848 Wharton Street and quite possibly 1305 S. 9th Street, as both addresses are listed on the violation.
With this new notice, it’s quite possible that this stretch of S. 9th Street could be home to two large vacant lots in the near future.

I noticed that as well. It’s possible that the building is actually part of the 848 Wharton Street property that collapsed. Both 1305 S. 9th and 848 Wharton are listed on the notice.
Correct. If you look at the PWD Stormwater map, it’s part of the 848 parcel. So it’ll technically be one big vacant lot, not two, if this one comes down as well.
