First Pics: Ramayana opens at 1740 S. 11th St.

Ramayana, an Indonesian cuisine eatery, is now open in the former location of Toyotomi Sushi Bar at 11th & Moore.

The owner of the establishment, Erwin Siswanto, has had a grocery store at 7th & Tasker since 2002 and a catering business, also under the name Ramayana, that he started about a year ago. His new establishment as a stand-alone eatery was the next step for his business.

Ramayana-1 At the location at 11th & Moore, there are various daily specials, usually 3-4 each day. The menu consists of everything from vegetarian options, to a variety of chicken, fish and beef dishes. All of the dishes on the menu are less than $10.

 The first day for Ramayana was Oct. 8, but Siswanto is planning to have an official grand opening on Nov. 19.

Ramayana also serves Indonesian snacks, which are usually something crunchy.

Ramayana is open 7 days a week from 12 p.m. through 8 p.m. More information can be found on Ramayana’s Facebook page and website.
