Prepare yourself for Thanksgiving with a Turducken Dinner Demo

With Christmas music and decorations popping up all over the city, it’s easy to forget about Thanksgiving quickly approaching.

TURDUCKEN-DINNER-DEMO

In celebration of the tastiest holiday of the year, Vanilya Bakery at 1611 E. Passyunk Ave. is holding a Turducken Dinner Demo.

In case you don’t know, turducken is a dish with a deboned chicken stuffed into a deboned duck, which is then stuffed into the deboned turkey, making a delectable combination of poultries. The demonstration of how to prepare the three birds to make the turducken will be instructed by Marc Noll, who is a chef and the husband of the bakery’s owner, Bonnie Sarana.

The demonstration is happening on Tues., Nov. 18 from 7 p.m. through 9:30 p.m. The cost of the demonstration is $75. Since space is limited, you must register in advance.

In addition to the turducken, there will also be cheese pumpkin soup, sweet potatoes, the turducken stuffing which will be made from ritz crackers and vegetables, cranberry and juniper glazed carrots and more. To top off the meal, there will be wine and also pumpkin creme brulee prepared by Sarana.

Although Vanilya is a bakery, the owners are looking to start expanding in the community with more cooking and baking demonstration classes with plans to open a catering business in the future.

It would’ve been nice if they could have gotten the order correct on the flier.
