Palladino’s sets opening date, now accepting reservations

Palladino’s, an 80-seat upscale Italian steakhouse at the gateway of E. Passyunk Ave, will officially open for dinner service on Dec. 18, the restaurant announced on Twitter.

We time we checked in with Palladino’s, the restaurant was shooting to open sometime in November at the former Colombo’s space at 1934 E. Passyunk Ave. Crews are on the scene installing the black and white paneling in preparation for opening night.

You can head over to their OpenTable page to book a reservation for opening night and beyond. As Eater Philly notes, it looks like they’ll be closed for Christmas but open Christmas Eve.

The menu will be an upscale Italian steakhouse with a tantalizing wine list, craft cocktails and full bar. While 80 seats will fill the inside, 40 more will be say outside under the new and improved awning. The large vertical neon sign combined with the vibrant black and white paneling will certainly be a standout building at the gateway to E Passyunk Ave. Here’s a glimpse from the Broad St. side of the project:

Any update on the renovation they were supposed to start in front of the United SavingsBank on that small public space in front of there?….I think they originally said they were going to start that work back in May….It is still listed as a pending project on the PARC’s website….

Hopefully it won’t be an impassable failure like the waste of money they put in at 16th and Passyunk… I know… I know.. “The precious pedestrians!!!” But do we really need to spend limited tax dollars because people can’t help themselves by waiting for their bus in the middle of the street and don’t look both ways before crossing? Oh and my personal favorite: texting while walking into the street oblivious to one’s surroundings… Money out the window…

        Seriously – pedestrians!
So a few of them get mowed down while crossing the street every day.
        What’s the big deal!?
        That’s the price of progress!

Can you believe the nerve of some people?!

Can’t wait to see that neon lit up! That will make a great gateway to the Ave.

Before someone jumps on this: the sign isn’t going to be neon.

@DavidG: seriously? That’s a shame. Would’ve have really brightened up the intersection and made it more welcoming. Is the sign just going to be a plastic/flourescent panel?

Back-lit if I recall correctly. Should be nicely visible from the street.

Neon was kinda a non-starter with the neighbors.

            What neighbors? The bank??

Who’d ever expect a Business District to have neon signs!

I cannot believe the neon sign was cut because of neighbors. What are they worried about?

So you think Termini’s is trashy?? Have you seen their sign? Take your tractor back to the turnip patch.
