Police need your help finding a suspect involved in an assault and robbery of a pregnant woman in Pennsport.
The incident took place on Dec. 22 at 9:15 p.m on the 100 block of Manton St. The video is quite scary, as a man runs up to the 41 year-old woman from behind, punches her in the head and runs off with her purse and other items.
As if the robbery and assault of a pregnant woman wasn’t brazen enough, it looks as though the incident took place outside of VSEC, a brightly-lit, 24-hour animal hospital located at 1114 S. Front St.
Police are looking for a grey SUV, possibly a 2004-09 Dodge Durango, with dulled or damaged paint on the passenger-side front door. The victim described the suspect as a black male with medium complexion, wearing a dark colored jacket, grey sweatpants and Nike sneakers. He was last seen driving south on Front St. towards Reed St.
The woman was treated for swelling and bruising around her right eye and kept for further observation due to her pregnancy. She was listed in stable coniditon.
