A new Cambodian restaurant is now open at 2207 S. 7th St.

I Heart Cambodia opened just about a month ago just around the corner from Cafe Canela.

The restaurant serves, just as you would guess, Cambodian food.

The menu includes a variety of items ranging from Vietnamese hoagies to Prahok Krasang, a dish that includes ground pork, krasang, lemongrass, kaffir leaves, fermented fish sauce and vegetables.

There is a selection of soups, salads, rice and noodle platters and then more traditional Cambodian dishes in the “Khmer” section of the menu.

The restaurant also offers daily specials.

In addition to all of the food offerings, I Heart Cambodia also serves coffee, thai tea and fresh coconut drinks. You can also expect to see alcohol offered on the menu in the near future, as the restaurant now has a liquor license.

I Heart Cambodia is open from Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. through 9 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. through 10 p.m. The restaurant doesn’t have a website, but you can find them on Yelp and Instagram.

Sweet! I can’t wait to try this place. LOMO should really work on developing its Cambodian connection. Would be a distinctive identity for the area.

This place is awesome if you’re into authentic Cambodian food. They love their spice so be careful with those items if you’re not used to really spicy stuff.

I never really think of 7th St as being part of “Lower Moyamensing”, but the area from 5th to 8th St has been heavily populated with Cambodians for decades now. 7th Street’s “distinctive identity” has been Cambodian (as well as Lao, Vietnamese, Mexican) for many years.

Yeah 5th to 8th street is pretty much its own neighborhood…

You should not presume to think we want to be “reached out to” by your corrupt LOMO civic group.
