More info on Jinxed’s new location and the future of Era Atomica

Last week we told you that Jinxed would be taking over Era Atomica’s space at 1835 E. Passyunk Ave.

The news of Jinxed moving into this location had many questioning what that meant for the future of Era Atomica.

Era Atomica’s owner, Mike Bartholetti, has decided to shift his focus to his other business ventures, which includes Eastern Pass, the tattoo shop just upstairs, and close up Era Atomica.

While Era Atomica will be closing, the location is being taken over by Bartholetti’s friend, Mike Supermodel, who owns Jinxed.

According to Supermodel, he wasn’t intending to open up this fourth location of Jinxed, but once he got word of Bartholetti’s plans to close up Era Atomica, he thought it was too good of an opportunity to pass up.

The staff from Era Atomica is also coming onboard now that the location will be Jinxed.

Era Atomica had more of a mid-century focus with its inventory, but now that Jinxed is moving in, the focus will shift to cover a wider range of time periods.

Jinxed’s first official day open in this location will be on April 1, which is the second anniversary of Jinxed’s second store opening. Since Era Atomica will remain open until then, Jinxed’s transition will be quite gradual, with plans for redecorating happening over time.

Jinxed will be open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

It would help them tremendously if they could teach the staff to be even the slightest bit friendly

YES! I agree 100%. I went in there once (and only once) and the employee stood outside and smoked with her friends the entire time.

I hope you mean Jinxed employees because the people at Era have been nothing but over the top friendly and helpful always. Shame to see this store downgrade into what Jinxed is about. I’ll miss it RIP.

I don’t know, I have had nothing but good experience with Jinxed employees, in fact one helped me pick out a ring for my GF for xmas, and others have been quick to talk to me if I start conversation with them first. I feel like they take the “let them shop in peace” approach, and I dig that.

Jeremy from era atomica is absolutely friendly, and one of the nicest salesmen I know, never a hard sell but always helpful.
I am so glad he’ll be staying on at jinxed

I’m so sorry to hear this. I always found something interesting every time I went in Era and while I’m happy that a similar store will still be on the Avenue, Jinxed is no where near as well-curated as Era Atomica.
