Write handwritten letters on Tuesdays in April at P.O.P.E.

Handwritten letters have become a rarity in this digital age–but Publetters is hoping to change that.

The program, which is a reintroduction to the craft of letter writing offered at bars throughout the city, is coming to South Philly at the Pub on Passyunk East every Tuesday this month.

You can simply come to P.O.P.E., drink some beers and write your friends, loved ones or random celebrities letters.

While who you write letters for is your choice, the director of the program, Michael McGettigan, will be providing a list of addresses for some noteworthy individuals. Ever wanted to send a letter to John Oliver? How about sending Pope Francis a letter from P.O.P.E.? Now is your chance.

The stationary, cards and envelopes will be provided by Casa Papel and postage will be provided by Trophy Bikes.

Publetters is free to the public and will be held every Tuesday in April at P.O.P.E., located at 1501 E. Passyunk Ave., from 7 p.m. through 9 p.m.
