Ms. Goody Cupcake closes up shop at 1838 E. Passyunk Ave.
Three years ago, Ms. Goody Cupcake opened at 1838 E. Passyunk Ave., in the storefront next to South Philly Comics.
As of this week, the bakery has decided to close up shop here on East Passyunk Avenue.

Owner Gigi Andrew decided not to renew the lease, according to spokesman Kory Aversa. The building was recently sold to Rockland Corp. and the rent was significantly raised at the end of the lease period, he said.
According to a statement on Ms. Goody Cupcakes’ Facebook page, the shop has no immediate plans to open up in a new location.
Now that Ms. Goody Cupcake is gone, what would you like to see move into this now-empty storefront?

Ben, maybe at one of the other 3 cupcake shops on E Passyunk? Bonus, if you have a pet E. Passyunk also has a bake good shop for them as well.
I… didn’t even notice this was there. Weird.
Honestly, I thought her cupcakes were not of a good quality. They had the taste of boxed mix with artificial flavors. We’d love to see a music store, or cafe that has live music, slam poetry night, and other events. I appreciate all of the higher end restaurants on the avenue, but a solid quality restaurant for “locals.” I wouldn’t mind an organic/natural spa/salon, a medium priced clothing store, or perhaps a pharmacy towards the lower end of the avenue.
I bought my house here before the recent transitions, and while I love what I see, I don’t find myself frequenting too many places because I don’t eat out a lot and find there is not a good variety of stores that are relevant to me. Honestly, there are way too many restaurants and not enough places to ship that aren’t places I’d want to go window shop, hang out, or visit with neighbors. I’d love to get to know my neighbors more!
you realize there’s a music store like 3 doors down from here, right?
That’s a shame , if more rents go up , more new stores will close , they’re not as busy as the restaurants .

There needs to be more places for day to day life. I don’t know about everyone, but a trader joes would be a perfect addition.
