Gourmet popcorn place opening in former ice cream shop on 2nd Street

A new business called MoJo’s Pop Co. is set to open in the former Brown Chicken Brown Cow location at 1321 S. 2nd St.

Prior to Brown Chicken Brown Cow, the location was also home to Strange Brew Coffee. So now instead of coffee or ice cream, you will soon be able to pick up some popcorn at the location.

MoJo’s Pop Co. is run by a mother and daughter team who started this business in 2013 using a family recipe to begin making all-natural, gluten-free popcorn in West Chester.

The popcorn is gourmet toffee popcorn, made in small batches with non-GMO corn from Lancaster County. A few of the popcorn flavorings listed on their website include cinnamon pecan, cayenne cashew and dark chocolate coconut.

MoJo’s Pop Co. currently sells their products at farmer’s markets and events, in addition to being sold at various retailers.

This Pennsport Factory Store location appears to be the first physical storefront for the company.

We don’t have info on an opening date just yet, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

You can find more information about MoJo’s Pop Co. on their website.

haha what? Maybe on South Street where you get a lot of touristy foot-traffic, but this location couldn’t even sustain a coffee shop.

This location will double as our “factory” during the week and will be open to the public on weekends to serve our product fresh for local customers. We live in the neighborhood and love the area! Very excited for this endeavor!

I’ve had this popcorn and it’s amazing! Hoping the owners have the warm popcorn at this new location since they are making it there.

Sadly this is going to fail there. Coffee, Coffee/Ice Cream, Popcorn. There isn’t enough foot traffic from the splashground across the street to keep this running. I WISH that something can stay there, but you can’t keep throwing snacks at it and expect it to float. Needs to be a restaurant that can add to the area.
