Townhomes to replace parking lot at 7th and Bainbridge
The area around 7th and Bainbridge will be seeing some changes in the near future.
Last week we told you about the small warehouse at 7th and Kater that will be demolished for apartments and retail. In addition to that development, the parking lot across the street will soon be gone, with seven townhomes, all with parking, set to replace the lot.

The developers appeared last month before the Bella Vista Neighbors Association and received a letter of non-opposition from the community group. There was some token architectural feedback offered, but nothing life-changing. The project was approved by the ZBA two weeks ago so look for the parking lot to shut down sooner rather than later.
So if you park your car in that lot, you better find a new place to park pretty soon.

This is fantastic news. Places for people to live is a much more valuable use of urban land than automobile storage.
Fabulous that the BVNA has the foresight, and intelligence, to recognize that domiciles are far more valuable and beneficial to the neighborhood than a vacant lot.
Who will put a stop to the parking spot genocide?
If someone wants me to hire them and they have ridden their bicycle in the snow, rain, or through dirty puddles, I do NOT hire them… And a lot of people would do the same. Think on that when ya miss the bus and you’ve made it as difficult as possible to own a car in the city…
And NO New York comparisons please… You’re saying our city of 1.5 Million should be as inconvenient for parking as a city of like 10 Million… Thats bananas.
Funny, I’ve fired a couple employees because the couldn’t get to work on time. Always the same excuse, “stuck in traffic”.
