Miss Rachel’s Pantry opens vegan market at 1938 S. Chadwick St.
A vegan caterer called Miss Rachel’s Pantry now has an open-to-the-public storefront at 1938 S. Chadwick St.
While she still does her catering, this new space allows owner Rachel Klein to serve things like pastries and communal dinners.
A little tour of the market at the Pantry! We are here ’til 3 today with goodies like fresh cultured cashew pub cheese, homemade “notella” handpies and quarts of matzo ball soup to go! #vegan

You can stop in and buy baked goods, soups and other goodies at the market on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Miss Rachel’s Pantry also serves a six-course communal dinner on Saturday nights at the location.
Hours are Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. through 3 p.m. If you’re interested in attending one of the Saturday evening dinners, you can make a reservation here.
The vegan restaurant lasted less than a year. Why would you put a vegan market here? Passyunk Ave. why do you accept these shotty business plans that are not improving the neighborhood? What a waste.

Maybe a vegan market will do better in that location? Don’t go if you don’t like it. I’m a meat eater, so I probably won’t, but it doesn’t give me sand in the vag.

Miss Rachel’s Pantry is delicious and will be even better in the new location. I have had a few great dinners there, and the take home catering as well.
Vegan Commissary was a different type of restaurant that never seemed to find its footing even though the food was good.
