Cochon now closed, to be replaced by Square Pie

Back in November, Square Pie opened in the former Blue Belly BBQ location at 600 Catharine St. While the pizza may be great, that location has its limitations with its lack of space.

To expand Square Pie, owners Gene and Amy Giuffi have decided to close down their French BYOB, Cochon, and move Square Pie to this bigger location at 801 E. Passyunk Ave.

More from Eater:

That means more elbow room for Square Pie, whose snug current location was previously Blue Belly BBQ (also owned by the Giuffis) and, once upon a time, the original home of ever-popular BYOB Little Fish. The Giuffis will take a few weeks to give the Cochon space a makeover before making the big move; in the meantime, Square Pie will stay open as-is.

I really hope Cochon is moving elsewhere or doing something bigger, I love that place.

I wish them the best but this is sad. Cochon was my favorite restaurant in the city.

Really? I liked Cochon, about 10 years ago. Recently it just seemed really tired, mailing it in.
