Opening date set for Coeur, new Montreal-inspired bistro at 824 S. 8th St.

In January we reported that a new restaurant from the owners of Memphis Taproom, Local 44 and Strangelove’s would be opening in the former Mildred location at 824 S. 8th St.

Now that restaurant, a Montreal-inspired bistro called Coeur, has an opening date for September 15.

This restaurant and bar will seat up to 120, serving up lunch and dinner, along with brunch on weekends. Chef Andy Tessier’s menu includes options for vegetarians and vegans, but the main attraction right now seems to be the large rotisserie ovens Coeur has for chicken.

Although there are other cocktails and beers, the focus of drinks at Coeur is on the wine list. The spot has created what they call a wine list for beer drinkers with non-fussy options to complement the food menu. There are a total of 10 beers and 6 wines on draft, along with bottled beers and wines and a small cocktail menu.

The grand opening date for the spot is Tuesday, September 15. The grand opening party starts at 5 p.m. and will include free samples of the food. You’ll be able to check out Coeur at regular hours starting on Wednesday, September 16.

Coeur will be open Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. The kitchen is open until midnight every day. The brunch menu is offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
