The Food Co-Op is hosting their 5th annual South Philly Garden tour on Saturday, September 12, with all of the proceeds from the event going towards their efforts to open a grocery store that they’ve been planning for some time now.

This year the garden tour will begin at Julian Abele Park at 22nd and Carpenter and visit various gardens and green spaces in South Philly, west of Broad. You’ll get to check out green spaces in Graduate Hospital, Point Breeze and Newbold. There are a total of 29 stops on the tour, including community gardens, rooftop gardens, an urban farm and more.

Tickets for this garden tour are available the day of the tour for $25, or in advance for $20. You can buy tickets at Ultimo, Urban Jungle, or online here.

The tour begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, but you should get there at 12:30 to check-in, get your tour map and gift bag, enjoy some coffee and snacks and take advantage of the Co-Op’s photo booth. The tour goes until 4 p.m. The rain date for the event is on Sunday, September 13.
