Bean Exchange now closed at 7th and Bainbridge

Some Bella Vista residents are going to need to find a new coffee shop.

Bean Exchange, located at 7th and Bainbridge, is now closed after almost 10 years in business.

More from The Insider:

“I am heartbroken for its faithful employees,” he wrote. “They are an asset that any business should be proud to holster. Pressures of being a small business owner in the city of Philadelphia, family life changes and situations beyond my control have led to the sale of the property.”

He said he wants to allow the new owner to develop the property as he sees fit.

What would you like to see in this now-vacant space?

Would love to see a vape store go in there.

Maybe the one on Passyunk (Cloud 9?) could move there? I know they sure had a negative impact on the car show, blasting crap DJ music on their P.A. system on the sidewalk.

Hoping that is sarcasm I sense. There are like 3 crappy vape shops in that area, with clowns riding those hoverboard things. GET OFF MY LAWN

Ah, so it goes. Bean was a regular coffee shop for regular people, and made that block a little more livable when it opened. I’m sure it will become a bistro cupcake bbq with music, craft beer, ipad menus, and a roving truck that you can follow on twitter. At least until those aren’t cool in NY anymore.

I dunno – Bean wasn’t my favorite coffee shop but hell it wasn’t my least favorite. They prevailed thru some negative stuff. The coffee was good. Can’t people just patronize a place without it having to be a stop on their privileged life list?

    Keep Philly Not Portland.
