This week’s SoPhilly Spotlight is a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath home on a double-wide lot at 709-11 Alter St., which as an astute reader points out, is not in Bella Vista, as the realtor claims. (This post has been updated)

The basement is super clean, and offers newer mechanicals (2011), laundry facilities and plenty storage space. New roof installed in 2014. This is a truly special home in a very desirable location? move right in!!!

Desirable location, yes, but since Alter is below Washington Avenue, this is in Passyunk Square, not Bella Vista.

“The heart of Bella Vista” my ***. Below Washington, west of 6th = Passyunk Square. What a liar this realtor is.

Of course the realtor is going to say it’s Bella Vista. That adds at least 50K to the price.

For me Bella Visto = negative $50K. South Street to the north and the PJ’s to the east and west. No thanks.
