“This race is known for being a fast one and we are thrilled to ROCK the city of ‘Brotherly Love’ for year six,” said Kevin Buffalino, Event Manager. “Because of the Pope coming to town, we’ve moved to a new date this year, which happens to be Halloween weekend. In celebration of the occasion, we’ll be hosting a costume contest and look forward to seeing participants and supporters in their best Halloween running gear.”

“The great thing is, the race will be done by mid-morning, so there’s plenty of time for families to prepare for evening Halloween festivities,” Buffalino said. “Plus runners will already have burned candy calories for the day.”

AACR Rock ‘n’ Roll Philadelphia Half Marathon will start and finish at Eakins Oval. The course will take runners on a tour of Philadelphia’s historical landmarks, street art, culture and parks.

In true Rock ‘n’ Roll fashion, participants will be energized by the sounds of live, local bands, motivating cheerleaders and encouraging spectators that line the course. Every participant receives a medal after crossing the finish line, then they can head to the Oval where the Gin Blossoms will take the stage, the headliner of the Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series. The concert is free and open to runners, spectators, family and friends.
