This performance is actually being staged at Christ Church Neighborhood House in Old City, 20 N. American St., but Theatre Exile is still South Philly’s hometown theater. And this show about the former Mayor Frank Rizzo is South Philly through and through.

The production explores Rizzo’s life as he tries to make his comeback and prepares for his 1991 mayoral campaign. As we jump through time and place Rizzo’s, Shakespearian complexity and unfiltered opinion brings to light what made this “larger than life” man both revered and reviled by so many.

The show features Scott Greer, Damon Bonetti, Robert DaPonte, Akeem Davis, Paul L. Nolan, William Rahill and Amanda Schoonover. It’s based on the best-selling book Rizzo: The Last Big Man in Big City America by Sal Paolantonio.
