E.M. Stanton Elementary continuing to raise funds for green schoolyard

Chester Arthur Elementary isn’t the only school seeing green improvements to their schoolyard.

E.M. Stanton Elementary is in the process of fundraising for a green schoolyard that is expected to break ground this spring.

To develop the plan for this playground space, they asked kids at the school what improvements they would like to see. Seeing that the schoolyard currently has no grass, greenery or playground equipment, there are plenty of improvements to be made. Changes will include plenty of grass for the kids and stormwater management purposes, more play equipment and more.

Most of the funding is in place for their original goal of $100,000, but they’re hoping to secure some more money to create the best schoolyard possible for the students at the school and the surrounding community.

If you’re interested in donating some money towards the development of the schoolyard, you can do so here. Ground is expected to be broken for the project this spring.

The Pizza is amazing but I just don’t see how they survive in this prime location with a space that size. They’re only open 25 hours a week. They don’t do delivery. They don’t sell alcohol. I mean the rent on that space can’t be cheap. And to be honest the atmosphere in there is not great. I’ve gotten take out from this location 5-6 times and have never seen more than 1-2 tables full. Maybe they do a lot of take out but I think they can be much more successful in a smaller location. Or add more hours/delivery.
