Burrito shop opening in former Buttercream Cupcake location in Pennsport

A new restaurant is planning on spicing up the former Buttercream Cupcake location at the beginning of January.

Wild Burrito

The Wild Burrito, a new location of the seasonal Wildwood, NJ burrito business of the same name, will bring their selection of Mexican foods to 2015 E. Moyamensing Ave.

Owner Joe Carpenter is a South Philly native who has been in the restaurant industry for 15 years. This new business will be a year-round operation, with a focus on mission-style burritos. The Wild Burrito will be serving some things to be expected like quesadillas, nachos, and of course burritos, but also some exciting and different options, like ghost pepper brownies and avocado fries. The restaurant also has a number of items for anyone who sticks to vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free diets.

Carpenter compares the business to Chipotle, but with more menu options (and as he jokingly mentioned, without E. coli). The Wild Burrito will offer eat-in, take-out and delivery. You can follow the progress of this new business on The Wild Burrito Facebook page.

Buttercream Cupcake called it quits in this location back in July, with the location being listed for rent soon after. Also worth noting in the Pennsport area is the addition of a new seafood takeout spot over at 3rd and Snyder.

Sounds like Pennsport is on a roll. Getting excited?

That side of Snyder Avenue where Neon Lobster will be located is Whitman, not Pennsport
