Tell your civic association about parking conditions in your part of South Philly
The Crosstown Coalition, which includes twenty civic associations around the city, is looking for feedback on the parking conditions in your neighborhood.
There are different surveys for car owners, non-car owners and local business owners in the areas linked to civic associations within the Crosstown Coalition.
Listed below are participating South Philly civics:
- Bella Vista Neighbors Association
- East Passyunk Crossing Civic Association
- Packer Park Civic Association
- Passyunk Square Civic Association
- Queen Village Neighbors Association
- South Broad Street Neighbors Association
If you live in the boundaries of any of these areas, you are welcome to fill out the surveys that apply to you.
Non-car owners, car owners and local businesses within the boundaries of these civic associations are welcome to give feedback on the current situation and improvements that can be made to parking in your neighborhood.
I’m not seeing any survey on the EPX site, am I missing something?
Get to the survey by clicking one of the highlighted links, “Non-car owners, car owners…” They’re not on the civic websites themselves so I don’t really know why those links are there. The author of the post could have made that more clear.
Sorry for it being unclear. The links for the civics were meant as a way of showing neighborhood boundaries in case anyone was looking.
@Matt – You click the link that applies to you listed above: “Non Car Owners”, “Car Owners” or “Local Businesses” and that asks for your zip code (qualifying you). The survey exists there, not on the civic association websites necessarily.

Would it be crazy to paint parking lines on residential blocks? I hate when people park taking up 2 spaces.
Yes, because cars are different lengths and it’d be a colossal waste of space to make all the spots big enough to fit, say, a pickup truck.
Yes, but if you are dumb enough to drive and park a Ford F150 in the city, then you deserve to be marginalized and inconvenienced.

My guess from taking the survey seems like they want data to propose building more parking lots and/or garages.
Yeah, that was my fear as well.

If we bulldozed all the businesses on east passyunk there’d be more room for parkiing.
That would be perfect.
Passyunk is so lame anyway.
I’d much rather drive over to Wal-Mart, WaWa, and AAA.
What about residents of Whitman neighborhood? Does the Whitman Council represent or are they completely inactive in these topics; is there another civic group for the neighborhood? Can you find out?
the solution is to make the cost of parking reflect the physical realities of the neighborhoods.
