11th and Jackson has been the home of various pizza spots, but most recently, the corner property is being occupied by something a little different.

According to Fox29, this location is now a “mob social club,” stating in a report that the “Philadelphia mob has grown to numbers the city hasn’t seen since the late 80’s.”

Known mobster George Borgesi was filmed leaving the “club,” in addition to gatherings of “fellow wise guys” hanging on street corners in surrounding areas. The once pizza spot now has blackout shades on the front door and often-closed blinds. The “Philly Crust Pizza” sign has also been spray painted to just say “Philly.”

Here’s Fox29’s video:

Wow. Fox29 is blowing this wide open. It won’t be long until Bandage Boy and the entire Chiarella Gang get taken down in a hail of gunfire Godfather style outside of Big Charlie’s Saloon. South Philly is clearly under siege.

George Borgesi, Joey Merlino, and that whole crew are all from that neighborhood. Merlino grew up at 10th and Jackson and they all went to Epiphany Parish. Just a little history on the neighborhood
