Redfin names Graduate Hospital as Philadelphia’s ‘hottest’ neighborhood

While maybe not as high-ranking as Dickinson Square West’s #2 spot in the country on last year’s edition of Redfin’s annual “Hottest Neighborhoods” list, Graduate Hospital came out in the top spot for Philadelphia neighborhoods on the 2016 ranking.

The neighborhood from South Street to Washington Avenue and from Broad to essentially the Schuylkill River, has grown tremendously in recent years, becoming a popular neighborhood to call home.

Here’s what a local real estate agent had to say about G-Ho:

Graduate Hospital has become one of the most popular neighborhoods in Philadelphia. It has the luxury of being a short distance from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, as well as UPenn and Drexel University. The city recently extended the Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk – a walking and biking trail that runs along the river from Graduate Hospital way up past the art museum and boat house row and into Manayunk. There is easy access to highways 676 and 76 to get yourself across or out of town and plenty of parks and squares throughout the neighborhood. Buyers won’t find a bargain here, but they’ll get a well-established neighborhood with tree-lined streets, restaurants, bars and pubs that sits quite close to Center City.

According to Refin’s findings, the median sale price for homes in the area is $429,000, with about 97.9 percent of houses being sold within 40 days of being on the market.

The Bella Vista-Southwark area earned a #3 spot on the Philadelphia rankings
