Tashan Indian restaurant closed in 2015 after four years in their location at Broad and Catharine.

Now a new Italian restaurant called Tasty Tuscan will be taking over the space, with plans of opening a dining spot and marketplace by July after $1.2 million in changes to the space.

Very special lunch with our chef Robin Masters, seafood from TUSCANY, very special gourmet menù

More from Philly.com:

Tasty Tuscan, the first of what is positioned as a multicity rollout, will combine what its backers call four-star Tuscan dining experiences in the dining room, chef demonstrations in a private room, and a small marketplace selling Italian groceries.

It will serve from breakfast through late night. Among the restaurant specialties will be steaks cut in the Italian style, opposed to American or Argentine.

MSC bringing you crappy chain retail you never asked for or wanted.

Not that I’m a fan, but, deep-pocket chain retail is what belongs in that location. They have the resources to make it work. And there are plenty of visitors to the city who actually prefer the known quantity that is chain restaurants.

You think Middle America is going down to eat at Broad and Catherine when Cheesecake Factory is right in town?

I titled my head to the side with Italian, they lost me at chain. With all the amazing food we have in Philly and all great Italian already available, this is the best they could do?
